Knows for TikTok opens a sidebar next to TikTok on the web and helps you understand the video you are watching: • Translate – translate the video's captions into your language, show original and translation together on the video, and export SRT or text. • Summary – an overview, chapters and key points with timestamps you can click to jump. • Analysis – the main claims, supporting points, logic and limits, plus what still needs to be verified. • Ask YY – ask follow-up questions about the current video; answers cite timestamps and each conversation stays with its video. • Account and history – optionally create an account (username + password) to keep your history and memos across browsers and computers. "YY" is the extension's built-in AI assistant service ("YY helps you understand"). It is provided by the operator and works without entering a model, endpoint or key. You can also pick your own AI provider in the settings and use your personal key. Videos are processed only on a TikTok video page (https://www.tiktok.com/@user/video/<numeric ID>); on the home feed and profile pages you can still open the sidebar and settings. When a video has no captions, the server temporarily fetches the public video's audio and transcribes it; the temporary media is deleted afterwards. Live streams, photo posts and video downloads are not supported.
