Knowledge MD Extractor
Overview
Extract the active web page as editable Markdown.
Knowledge MD Extractor turns the readable content of the active HTTP or HTTPS page into editable Markdown. It creates YAML frontmatter, preserves common article structure such as headings, lists, tables, code blocks, links, and images, and lets you copy or download the edited result. Use it when you want a clean Markdown starting point for notes, personal knowledge bases, documentation research, or RAG preparation. Everything runs locally in Chrome. The extension does not send page content to external services, does not make network requests, and does not use analytics, telemetry, or AI services. Key capabilities - Extract the currently active page only when you select Extract. - Generate editable Markdown with YAML frontmatter and a UTC ISO 8601 captured_at timestamp. - Preserve readable article structure, including common tables and code blocks. - Copy edited Markdown or download it with a safe filename. Limitations - Works with top-level HTTP and HTTPS pages only. - Browser-internal pages, extension pages, local files, iframe content, and Shadow DOM content are outside the v1.0.0 scope. - If Readability cannot identify article content, extraction can fail. The extension does not fall back to the whole document body. - Closing the Chrome popup discards unsaved extracted Markdown and edits.
