Overview

Copy HTML tables to the clipboard or export them as Excel workbooks.

Quick Table Extract is a lightweight productivity extension that makes it easy to move HTML tables from websites into Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications. To use the extension, right-click anywhere inside a genuine HTML table and open the Quick Table Extract menu. You can then choose one of two actions: • Copy table to clipboard — Copies the selected table as both formatted HTML and tab-separated text. This preserves its rows and columns when pasted into Excel or another compatible spreadsheet application. • Export table to Excel — Creates and downloads a native Excel .xlsx workbook containing the selected table. Plain numeric values are stored as Excel numbers, allowing them to be calculated, summed, and formatted immediately. Quick Table Extract supports standard HTML table structures, including heading cells, empty cells, Unicode text, row spans, and column spans. It also makes a conservative, best-effort attempt to detect a separate header table positioned directly above the selected table. When the header and body tables clearly align, the extension combines them into one spreadsheet-ready result. If a separate header cannot be matched confidently, the selected table is captured normally without modification. All table extraction and Excel workbook generation occurs locally within the browser. Table content is processed only after the user explicitly chooses a command from the extension’s right-click menu. The extension does not transmit table content or browsing activity to the developer or any external server. Quick Table Extract has: • No user accounts• No analytics or tracking• No advertising• No subscriptions or paid features• No remote services• No persistent storage of captured tables• No sale or sharing of user data Current limitations: • Only genuine HTML <table> elements are supported.• Div-based or canvas-based data grids are not currently supported.• Only rows presently loaded in the webpage are captured.• Pagination, virtual scrolling, and infinite scrolling are not automatically expanded.• Images, visual styling, and interactive controls are exported as displayed text only.• Chrome prevents extensions from operating on internal browser pages, the Chrome Web Store, and other protected browser surfaces. Quick Table Extract has one focused purpose: helping users copy or export a table they explicitly select into a spreadsheet-friendly format, quickly and privately.
