Courier Bot

A programming puzzle. Write a short program for a delivery robot and watch it run.

Courier Bot is a puzzle about writing programs, not about typing routes. You give a delivery robot a short list of commands — forward, turn, pick up, drop — and watch it run. The catch is a hard limit on how many commands fit. At level seven the limit stops being an inconvenience and becomes the puzzle: you notice the route repeats, pull the repeated part into a procedure, and call it three times. That is the whole game, and everything after it is variations on fitting a route into fewer commands than it seems to need. No prior knowledge is needed. You will have invented a subroutine before anyone tells you the word. What's in it • 25 levels open straight away, and one more every day • Ice you slide across, conveyors that carry you their own way, balloons that burst when you bump them, plates that turn you as you arrive — a new kind of tile every ten levels • A step-through debugger: run your program one command at a time, forwards or backwards, and see exactly where it went wrong • Every level gives you exactly as many slots as its shortest program needs, found by an exhaustive search rather than guessed — so a program that fits is the best there is What it doesn't do • No account, no sign-in, no ads, no trackers • Works offline, because everything is in the extension • Asks for no permissions at all Your progress is saved on your own device, not on a server. To find the levels that are unclear, the game asks whether it may send a few anonymous counts: which level was started, finished or failed, and how many levels are open. Nothing is sent unless you allow it, nothing in them identifies you, and the privacy policy lists every detail.
