Select a word on any page and a small card shows you: • IPA transcription (US and UK) • a plain English respelling, like "pruh·NUN·see·AY·shun" • the syllable breakdown with stress marked • US and UK pronunciation audio • short definitions • a link to the full entry on quickpronounce.site When you install, Chrome says QuickPronounce can "read and change all your data on all websites". That is the standard wording for any extension that works on every page, and it is needed so the Pronounce button can appear on whatever you are reading. QuickPronounce only sends the single word you choose to look up. It does not read page content, track the pages you visit, or build a browsing history. THREE WAYS TO USE IT • Select a word, then click the "Pronounce" button that appears. • Right click a selection and choose "Pronounce with QuickPronounce". • Set a keyboard shortcut and pronounce the current selection instantly. The toolbar popup lets you type a word to look up directly and see your last 10 lookups. PRIVACY QuickPronounce only ever sends the single word you explicitly ask about. It does not read page content, does not track the pages you visit, does not build a browsing history, and includes no third party analytics or tracking scripts. Your recent words and settings are stored locally in your browser. FREE QuickPronounce is free to use. Audio is generated on demand and cached so replaying a word is instant.
