ParsiPad is a free, open-source Persian and English translator that lives in your browser. It is built for Persian speakers who read English online, and for Persian speakers learning English. You choose the AI (Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT), use your own API key, and pay only for what you use. There is no ParsiPad account and no server of ours in between. Translate anything on the page Rest your pointer on a paragraph and click the small icon. The translation appears right underneath, so you read both languages together and the original page is never changed. Select a word or a passage and ParsiPad reads the sentence around it first, so you get the meaning that fits, with pronunciation and examples. Translate a whole page in place. ParsiPad tells you how many paragraphs there are and roughly what it will cost before it starts, shows progress, and lets you switch back to the original at any time. Drag a box over text you cannot select, drop in an image or a text file, or keep the side panel open while you browse. Direction is detected automatically, Persian to English or English to Persian. Shortcuts: Alt+B for the paragraph under your pointer, Alt+T for a selection, Alt+P for the whole page, Alt+S for a screenshot region, Alt+D for the dictionary. Look up any word for definitions, IPA pronunciation, synonyms and its Persian or English equivalent. Rewrite your own English as professional, conversational or concise. When the text came from a box you are typing in, Replace puts the version you pick back in its place, and Undo brings your words back. Star a translation and it becomes a flashcard. Everything you translate, look up or polish stays in one searchable Library, and if you turn it on, each new tab shows one of your saved words. Private by design Your API key stays on your device. Text is sent only when you ask, only the part you asked about, and only to the provider you chose. Your history and favorites stay in your browser, with no accounts and no tracking. Repeat lookups are served from a local cache, and the built-in Analytics page shows what you are spending with each provider. The source is open at github.com/amirehsan/parsipad.
