Overview

Cross-border car arbitrage: landed cost, registration tax, market value, known faults and a negotiation plan on every listing.

The price in the advert is not what the car costs you. Klakso works out the real number on the listing page, before you spend a day driving to see it. Buy a car in Germany, sell it in France, and between those two prices sit VAT, the carte grise, the CO2 malus, transport, and whatever the seller chose not to mention. Klakso reads the listing you already have open and puts all of it on one screen: what the car actually costs delivered and registered, what it resells for, and whether there is anything left over. WHAT IT SHOWS YOU Landed cost — every line itemised: the purchase, the VAT treatment (including the margin scheme, which changes the answer completely), French registration tax, the CO2 malus, transport and reconditioning. Not an estimate with a disclaimer — the actual figures, from the current tax tables. What it resells for — comparable cars gathered from the destination market, so the resale figure is measured against real listings rather than guessed. What is likely to break — a database of engine-family weak points covering 45 families. For each one: how common it is, what the repair typically costs, and how to check for it standing next to the car. What to check before you buy — an inspection list in the order you would actually work through a car: before you travel, the paperwork, walking up to it, engine cold, running, on the drive. Export it as plain text for your phone, because the laptop stays in the car. What to offer — an opening number and a walk-away number, anchored on the seller's asking price and justified by the specific faults found in that specific advert. Whether it will pass the contrôle technique — the points this car is most likely to fail on, before it becomes your problem. WHY INSTALL IT Because the wasted trip is the expensive part. A 600 km round trip to look at a car that was never going to work costs you a day and a tank of fuel, and you find out standing in a stranger's driveway. This tells you before you go. Because the margin is in the details you cannot hold in your head. Two cars with the same price and mileage can differ by €1,500 once the CO2 malus and the VAT treatment are applied. That difference decides whether the deal is worth doing, and it is invisible on the listing page. Because it tells you when to walk away. Most listings are not deals. An honest negative number, early, is worth more than an optimistic one after you have already committed. HOW IT WORKS Open a listing on mobile.de, AutoScout24, leboncoin or La Centrale. A panel appears with the numbers. That is the whole workflow — no copying registration numbers into a spreadsheet, no separate app, no account to create. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not browse on its own, contact sellers, or buy anything. It reads the page you have open and calculates. It has no access to your other tabs and does not ask for any. PRIVACY The deal analysis, the valuations, the fault database and the checklist all run inside your browser and send nothing anywhere. Only the optional AI analysis sends the listing text to a model — ours, or your own API key if you would rather. There is no tracking, no analytics and no account. Paid plans from €7/month add l'argus valuations, live parts pricing, VIN decoding, fault-database updates and a higher AI allowance. Built for the France–Germany corridor.
