Collate merges PDF and Excel files in seconds without an account, no payment, no watermark and no file limit. PDF: drop your PDFs, drag them into the order you want, name the file and merge. Excel: drop .xlsx or .csv files and choose One tab, which stacks every row under matching column names, or Separate tabs, which keeps each file on its own tab. Merge PDF files and combine Excel spreadsheets in seconds, right in your browser. Collate is a free PDF merger and Excel combiner that works entirely on your computer. Your files are never uploaded anywhere. No account. No payment. No watermark. No file limit. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ MERGE PDF FILES - Drop in two or more PDFs, or click to choose them - Drag the files into the order you want - See the page count and exactly which pages each file will fill (for example, 1–14, 15–20) - Name the merged PDF and press Merge. It downloads straight to your computer Great for combining reports with appendices, joining scanned documents, putting a cover letter in front of a contract, or bundling invoices and receipts into one PDF. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ COMBINE EXCEL AND CSV FILES Merge .xlsx, .xlsm and .csv files into a single Excel workbook, two ways: ONE TAB: stack every row from every file into one sheet under a single header row. Columns are matched by name, so files with columns in a different order or with different capitalization still line up correctly. Ideal for combining monthly exports, regional sales reports, survey results or any data split across files. SEPARATE TABS: keep each file on its own sheet inside one workbook, with each tab named after its file. Values, formulas, cell formatting, number formats, column widths, merged cells and frozen panes are kept. Combine CSV files into Excel, merge multiple spreadsheets into one, or consolidate workbooks without copying and pasting. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVATE BY DESIGN Most online PDF and Excel merge tools upload your files to their servers. Collate never does. Everything happens inside your browser tab: - Files are processed on your own device and never leave it - Works offline, with no internet connection needed - No account, sign-up or email address - No tracking, analytics, cookies or ads - Requests no browser permissions and cannot see the websites you visit Safe for confidential documents, contracts, financial statements and personal records. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SIMPLE BY DESIGN Pick PDF or Excel, drop your files, set the order, merge. There are no settings menus to learn. It also works in dark mode and can be used entirely with the keyboard. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is Collate free? Yes, completely free, with no premium version, no watermark and no limit on the number of files or merges. Are my files uploaded? No. Your files stay on your computer. Collate has no server to send them to. Does it work offline? Yes. Once installed, it merges PDFs and spreadsheets without an internet connection. Can I merge Excel files with different column orders? Yes. In One tab mode, columns are matched by their header names, so they line up even when each file orders them differently. Are formulas kept? In Separate tabs mode, formulas are kept. In One tab mode, formulas are saved as their calculated values, because rows move to new positions when files are stacked. Can I merge CSV files into Excel? Yes. Add CSV files alongside Excel files and the result is saved as an .xlsx workbook. Is there a file size limit? Collate sets no limit. Very large files are limited only by your computer's memory. What can't it do? Password-protected files and the old .xls format are not supported. For .xls files, open them in Excel and save as .xlsx first. Charts, pivot tables and images inside spreadsheets are not copied into the merged file. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO USE 1. Click the Collate icon in your Chrome toolbar 2. Choose PDF or Excel 3. Drop in your files and drag them into order 4. Type a file name and press Merge Your merged PDF or Excel file downloads instantly.
