Stackyard

Read what your favorite writers recommend: a calmer Home feed and a feed of every haystack's picks. Not made by Substack.

The Stackyard is a free Chrome extension for reading Substack by recommendation instead of by algorithm. It's not about who you follow. It's about who the writers you trust recommend. How it works 1. Pick a publication you love. Everyone it recommends goes into its haystack. 2. Turn on the Haystack feed. Your Substack Home shows just haystack writers, newest first. 3. Open the Stackyard. One page of every post and Note your haystacks recommend, with a Save button that bookmarks straight to your Substack Saved list. Also in the box - Focus mode: hides the little red badges so you read instead of checking. - Hide the side menu: it tucks away and slides out when you touch the edge. - The Stackyard in your Substack menu, one click from Explore. Privacy, in one line: everything runs in your browser, nothing is sent to us, and it only touches your account when you click Save.
