Meet NekoYaku (猫訳) — the cat that translates manga while you read. NekoYaku overlays AI translations directly on the manga page you are reading. Pick a reading mode and the translated text appears in seconds, without leaving the page. TWO WAYS TO TRANSLATE • Hosted — sign in and translate using NekoYaku credits. New accounts start with 30 credits and 3 Bonus Snips when eligible under the signup-benefit limits in our Privacy Policy. One-time packs add 500, 1,200, or 2,800 credits plus 10, 50, or 150 Bonus Snips, and balances do not expire. Standard costs 1 credit per screen, Enhanced 2. Hosted requests are routed through NekoYaku's service, which handles sign-in, credit accounting, and the AI call. • Bring your own key (BYOK) — add your own OpenRouter, Google Gemini, or OpenAI API key and the request goes straight from your browser to that provider. BYOK translations use 0 NekoYaku credits, need no account, and are billed by your provider. THREE READING MODES • Pins — small "T" markers appear on each speech bubble; click one to reveal its translation card. Keeps the artwork clean. • Full page — translate every bubble at once and show all cards. • Snip — drag over any region (a bubble, a caption, a sign) and get an instant translation card right where you selected. 15 OUTPUT LANGUAGES English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Indonesian, Russian, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Italian, Polish, Chinese, Korean, and Turkish. Japanese is the default source language, and Auto-detect handles pages written in other languages. FEATURES • The extension's own menus are available in English, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, and Simplified Chinese — set separately from the translation language • Fast: no upload queue and no image re-drawing — results in seconds • Two quality levels: Standard for everyday pages, Enhanced when a page is hard to read • Smart 7-day cache kept on your own device: matching pages can reopen without another request • Auto-start Pins: translate each new page automatically on supported or user-added sites after account/API-key setup and, for Hosted mode, data consent. This setting starts enabled; pause it from the page controls or turn it off in the popup • Save the translated view as a PNG (full screen or a selected area) • Group split text fragments, rearrange bubbles, and adjust marker visibility • Auto-start Pins is tuned for popular manga sites such as cmoa, mechacomic, Shonen Jump+, Comic Days, and ebookjapan. The full list is in the extension's settings, and you can add any other site yourself • Snip and manual Pins also work on ordinary web pages outside the supported-site list. Chrome internal pages and Chrome Web Store pages do not allow the overlay • Handles fullscreen, tiled-canvas, vertical-strip, and iframe-based viewers PRIVACY • No advertising or cross-site tracking • Hosted mode records limited operational metadata for credit accounting, abuse prevention, cost estimation, and reliability; page images and translated text are not stored in the analytics database • BYOK API keys are stored only in your browser and are sent only to the provider you selected — never to NekoYaku • Hosted translations pass through NekoYaku's service for sign-in and credit accounting; BYOK translations do not • An account is required only for Hosted credits; BYOK works without signing in • Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record — NekoYaku never receives your card number • Full policy: see the Privacy policy link on this listing NOTE Hosted mode needs a NekoYaku account and credits (eligible new accounts receive 30 credits and 3 Bonus Snips).
