Kira Workflow Recorder turns a browser task you do by hand into steps that can be run again. Press Start recording and a new tab opens. Do the task once — click through the pages, fill in the fields, submit the form. Press Stop. The extension now has the steps, and can repeat them. HOW IT RECORDS Each step is saved with a selector picked to survive a redesign: an id the page's own authors wrote, then a test hook, a field name, an accessible label — and only a structural path as a last resort. Every candidate is checked to be unique on the page before it is trusted. Clicks also store the element's visible text, so a replay that lands somewhere unexpected can find the right control by what it says. PASSWORDS ARE NEVER RECORDED A password field — or any field named like one — is stored as "a secret was typed here", with no value. The replay stops at that step and hands it back to you to type. Verified: after recording a password, the typed text appears nowhere in the saved recording. HOW IT REPLAYS One step at a time, in a fresh tab, waiting for each element and for the page to settle after anything that navigates. A step that fails stops the run and names the step it failed on. Carrying on past a missed click would do the rest of the task on the wrong page, which is worse than stopping. WHAT IT DOES NOT RECORD Mouse movement, scrolling and hovering are ignored — none of them is a step worth repeating, and all of them would bury the recording in noise. It records only in the tab it opened when you pressed Start. Your other tabs are never touched, and it never records in the background. WHERE IT RUNS Recording works on ordinary web pages. Chrome's own pages, the Web Store and PDF viewers refuse extension scripts, so steps there are not recorded. Content inside cross-origin frames is out of reach.
