The open tabs not showing problem can be fixed by going into "chrome://flags" and setting both "Customize Chrome Side Panel" And "Chrome Refresh 2023" to Disabled.

Almost no contrast, the tabs are invisible and I can't see which tab is active.

Active Tab is not highlighted. This is making hard to know where you are. Too confusing.
