Overview

Export books from Kindle Cloud Reader to PDF. Save a whole book, one page, or a page range from read.amazon.com in one click.

Kindle Cloud Reader to PDF saves books from Amazon's Kindle Cloud Reader (read.amazon.com) as PDF files you can keep, search, print, and read offline. Open a book you own, click the toolbar icon, and download it as a PDF. It is built for students, researchers, and anyone who wants a portable copy of a book from their own Kindle library — to annotate on a tablet, read on an e-ink device, or search with Ctrl+F. WHAT YOU CAN EXPORT • Whole book — walks the reader from the first page to the last and returns one PDF • This page — just the spread currently on screen • Page range — any stretch of pages, using the book's own page numbers All three are free. There is no account to create, no sign-up, and no payment. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a book in Kindle Cloud Reader at read.amazon.com 2. Click the Kindle Cloud Reader to PDF icon in your Chrome toolbar 3. Choose whole book, this page, or a page range, then click Export PDF The extension shows live progress while pages are captured and the PDF is built, so you can see exactly how far along a long book is. Keep the tab visible while it runs — pages are captured from the screen. WORKS WHERE CHROME WORKS Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook. Nothing to install beyond the extension itself, and no desktop software or command-line tools required. WHAT YOU GET A PDF that mirrors the reader's page layout, with the surrounding interface trimmed away so you get the page and not the browser. Convert the book you are reading into a file you can move to a tablet, an e-reader, or a backup drive. PRIVACY PDF generation runs through Kindle to PDF's rendering API. Book content is held only for as long as it takes to render your PDF and is not stored afterwards. The extension reads only the Kindle tab you explicitly act on, and it never sees your Amazon password. SCOPE This extension works with books in your own Amazon library, through the reader interface you already have access to. It does not remove DRM, unlock books you have not purchased, or access anything Amazon has not already shown you. Questions, bugs, and feature requests: https://www.kindletopdf.com/support A focused Kindle Cloud Reader Chrome extension that does one job — turning books you own into PDFs you can keep. What's new in this version - Reads the Kindle footer with its unit. - Stops falling back to the first number in an `X of Y` footer when the current position cannot be read; that returned the book total and made front matter look like the last page. - Paces reader page turns and resyncs when the reader drifts, instead of abandoning the export after three retries. - Treats a reader that will not retreat any further as the start of the book rather than a failure. - Refuses to report success for a whole-book export that stopped well short of the last page, measured by the furthest page reached rather than the number of captured spreads. - Trims the reader's background from each capture, removing about a quarter of the dead area from exported pages. - Ships extension icons at 16/32/48/128; Chrome previously showed a generic placeholder. - Rebuilds the popup: wrong-tab detection, live progress with real page counts, export state that survives closing the popup, plain-language errors, and a copyable diagnostic trace.
