KillTab helps diagnose and recover from a heavy or stuck browser tab. • See the active tab's JavaScript heap usage in the toolbar badge. • See heap and CPU activity in the toolbar tooltip. • Click the toolbar icon to crash the active tab's renderer without closing the tab. • Use the page right-click menu for the same action. • Refresh the tab whenever you want to load it again. KillTab uses Chrome's debugger API only to read performance metrics from the active tab and send the Page.crash command after an explicit user action. It does not read page text, make network requests, run analytics, track browsing, or store settings. The all-sites permission lets the resource badge sample whichever regular website is currently active. Restricted browser pages remain inaccessible.
