Killslop.app - Filter AI Slop from Youtube, X and LinkedIn. Feeds are filling up with mass-produced AI content: faceless “documentaries” and AI voice-over channels on YouTube, engagement-farm threads on X, and ghostwritten thought-leadership on LinkedIn, churned out by the hundred. KillSlop hides it, so what is left was made by people. It works the moment you install it, with no account and no setup. ✪ WHAT IT DOES ▻ Reads the platform’s own AI label where there is one. YouTube’s “Made with AI” disclosure and X’s AI label both hide a post outright. ▻ Spots accounts, not just single posts. Slop farms label nearly every upload and real accounts label none, so when most of an account’s sampled posts carry the label, the whole account is hidden. ▻ Adds an AI SLOP button to the action row, beside like and dislike on YouTube, beside reply and repost on X, and beside Comment and Repost on LinkedIn. One click hides the post for you instantly, with Undo and “hide the whole account” right there. ▻ Says why. Every hidden post leaves a thin card with the reason (labelled by the creator, account publishes AI content, reported by the community, reads as AI-written) and a Show button. ▻ Lets you overrule it. “Not slop” always wins over the platform’s label and the community list, for you. ▻ Hide or dim: remove slop entirely, or grey it out so you can still see what was caught. ▻ Uses an open community list. Reports are checked by a person before they are served to anyone, and entries are tagged with their evidence: measured from the platform’s own labels, read by the writing check, voted by people, or reviewed by hand. You can switch opinion votes off and keep only measured entries. ▻ Can read the writing itself, if you ask it to. X labels AI images and video but never text, and LinkedIn labels nothing at all, so a post made only of words cannot be placed any other way. The writing check is off until you turn it on in the popup, because it is the one part that sends a post’s text away to be judged. ✪ WHAT WORKS WHERE YouTube: the “Made with AI” label, channel-level patterns in that label, your own marks, and the community list. LinkedIn: LinkedIn publishes no AI label at all, so posts there are hidden by your own marks and the community list, plus the writing check if you switch it on. Turning that check on is what makes LinkedIn work properly. ✪ PRIVACY KillSlop is built so that it never learns what you watch or read. ▻ Community lookups send only the first 4 characters of a hash of the post id. The server answers with a bucket of thousands of possible entries and your browser picks out the one it needs, so the server cannot tell which post you looked at. ▻ Four deliberate things can send data: marking something (the id you marked), an account measurement (the account id and its label counts), feedback you choose to send, and, only while the writing check is switched on, the text of a post that nothing else could place. Each one can be switched off, and the writing check ships off. ▻ The writing check works the same hashed way. A post’s text is looked up by the first 4 characters of its hash, so a post anyone has had checked before is answered with no text sent at all. Only a post that nobody has ever had checked has its text sent, with no id and nothing about you attached. The server keeps the hash and the score and drops the text. ▻ Your install and your network are stored only as salted hashes, scoped so that two of your votes cannot be linked to each other. Requests to YouTube are made without your YouTube cookies. On X and LinkedIn, KillSlop only reads the page those sites already rendered and makes no requests of its own. ▻ No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, nothing sold. Every setting and cache stays in your browser. Turn the community list off and the writing check off, and nothing leaves it at all. ▻ Removing KillSlop opens a page asking why. Answering it is optional, and the link that opens it carries only which version you had, never an identifier.
