Is your kid finding videos you don't want them watching? KidGuard lets you block specific keywords on YouTube — so searches, video titles, and recommendations matching those words never get through. HOW TO USE IT 1. Click the KidGuard icon in your toolbar. 2. Enter your PIN (default is 1234 — change it in popup.js before installing). 3. Add or remove keywords from the list. 4. Done. The extension runs automatically every time YouTube is open. WHAT IT BLOCKS - Search results matching blocked keywords - Video titles on watch pages (stops and mutes the video immediately, shows a redirect message) - Recommended video cards on the home page, sidebar, and search results WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMETHING IS BLOCKED The video stops and is muted immediately. A full-screen overlay appears with a friendly message for kids — things like "Level Locked! Ask a parent." After 5 seconds it automatically redirects to the YouTube home page. PRIVACY Nothing leaves your browser. No account needed. No servers. Your keyword list is saved using Chrome's built-in sync so it works across your devices. The extension only runs on youtube.com. TIPS - Change the default PIN (1234) by editing the SECRET_PIN line in popup.js before you load the extension. - Default blocked keywords include: roblox, minecraft, gaming, fortnite, and more. You can remove any of them. - The extension detects YouTube's page changes without a full reload, so it catches SPA navigation too.
