Find duplicate photos, similar shots, blurry pictures, screenshots and chat-app images in Google Photos, review them side by side, and move only the ones you choose to the Google Photos trash. Duplicate Finder & Cleanup runs in your browser. All features are free. No ads, analytics, accounts or uploads to the developer. What you can do: - Scan the Google Photos view you have open (library, album or search results), up to 50,000 items. Continue with the next batch when you have reviewed the first. - Duplicates: visually matching photos are grouped, and one copy is suggested as the keeper. Choose which copy stays: best quality, highest resolution, largest file, oldest, newest, or a copy that does not count toward Google storage. Each group shows its resolution and file size and why the keeper was chosen. - Series: similar shots taken close together, such as bursts. The sharpest, best-exposed shot is kept. - Low quality: almost black, blank or clearly blurry photos. - Screenshots, chat-app images (WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram and others), social-media saves, short videos, documents and other app images, filterable by app and age. - Optional video duplicates: videos are grouped only when Google Photos reports identical file content. - A full-screen compare viewer with synchronized zoom and keyboard review. - See roughly how much Google storage the marked photos use, then select them through Google Photos' own selection and move them to its trash. Photos you choose to keep are remembered and left out of later scans. Your latest scan and keep choices are stored locally in this Chrome profile. Thumbnails and file details are requested directly from Google using your existing Google Photos sign-in. No photo data is sent to the developer. Please understand the limits: - Photo matching compares thumbnails, not original file bytes. A visual match is a suggestion, not proof that two originals are identical; review every group. - Quality suggestions are estimated from small previews and can be wrong. - Keep the Google Photos tab open and visible while scanning. - The extension never empties the trash or deletes anything permanently. Items in the Google Photos trash can be restored for the period Google keeps them. - Google Photos changes can break scanning or selection. Some views and libraries may not work.
