Not Tracking Properly Since Chrome Update

I can't say for sure, but I did a Chrome update and tracking hasn't been accurate since. I'm only getting minutes tracked when it should be hours. I don't know what is happening. Before it worked like a charm.

seems to not record data if you're not logged in, and doesn't warn you

I just checked TimeYourWeb for the first time in a couple of months and when I clicked on the icon, it asked me to log in. Once I did, I discovered it hadn't recorded any data for me in at least two weeks. Which makes me think it's not recording data because I wasn't logged in, even though my impression was logging in was just so you could sync data.

If I have to be logged in, you should pop up something on the icon like a red flag or something so I would know there was an issue I need to address.

update seems to have lost everything - not the first time!

Hi, this is an ongoing problem but last time I reported it you asked for more details and by the time I realized and answered the question I think it was off your radar. So I'll start fresh.

Yesterday TimeYourWeb wouldn't show me any data - I just got the working icon forever. I knew there was data - when I was on one document I'd worked on it would say 45 minutes on the icon, but I couldn't get to it.

Today, after rebooting my PC I tried again and it still wouldn't work. So I checked to see if Chrome was up-to-date. It wasn't. At that point, Chrome updated itself.

After restarting Chrome, TimeYourWeb gave me results. But even though on the calendar I can pick any date range in the last two months, meaning that presumably TimeYourWeb believes it has data for all those dates, it is only showing me how much time I've spent on sites since Chrome updated! So right now it's showing I've used Chrome a total of an hour and a half in the last two months.

I also see that the sites I added to "ignoring rules" are gone. They were there before the update.

Since I've had the experience previously of TimeYourWeb data being gone and then mysteriously reappearing, I tried restarting Chrome, but it didn't make a difference.

Both the issue of TimeYourWeb being unable to load/display data and of TimeYourWeb losing all its data have happened to me before, and it's very frustrating because I can't rely on the extension, even though when it actually works it's great.

I just created an account for syncing, so I'm hoping that might help me going forward, but all that's synced right now is the last hour and a half so that doesn't help any!

I am using:
Chrome - Version 121.0.6167.86 (Official Build) (64-bit)
TimeYourWeb Time Tracker - 2.0.32
Windows 10

Hello Charles,

First of all, thank you for using TimeYourWeb.

Let me provide you with some details that could clarify some of the issues you've encountered.

Nowadays, TimeYourWeb does not restrict the tracking start time to a specific moment in the past. Therefore, you can select any previous day in the calendar. This could be convenient for users who are selecting data by month.

We have updated the extension's logic to minimize the loss of your activity data. There is now a 5-minute fast cache from which we are saving data to your local TimeYourWeb database. So, if any performance issue is resolved in less than 5 minutes, all your data will be saved to the database and will be available in the chart.

Upon signing up on the website, we continue saving your data into your "Authorized" local database. Additionally, we perform hourly syncs of your total and active time to the website. The website currently contains only "InAll" information without domain or page details. We are actively working on syncing everything.

Thank you for informing us about the issue with the "ignoring rules." This is indeed a bug that occurs when you sign in to the website. We will address this in the next extension update.

Best regards,
Gregory from the TimeYourWeb team

Sync button?

Hi, I just noticed there's a sync button on the extension I'd never noticed before. When I click on it I get a page that says I can view an hourly synchronization here. But there's nothing else there. How do I get this to show me synced data?

This time there was a user button so I created an account. Thanks.

Hello Charles,

Thank you for reaching out with your question about the sync button on the TimeYourWeb extension.

The sync button you've noticed is a feature designed to enhance your experience with our service. When you click on this button, it prompts you to either register for or log into the TimeYourWeb website. This step enables the extension to save hourly summary activity to your personal account on our website.

This data is then synchronized with your account, allowing you to access and review it anytime on the TimeYourWeb website. The purpose of this feature is to provide you with a comprehensive overview of how much time you spend in different browsers across various devices.

If, after clicking the sync button, you find that the page shows no data, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

Recent Installation or Activation: If you've only recently installed the extension or activated the sync feature, it might take a little time to gather enough data to display.

Account Synchronization: Ensure that you are logged in to the same account on all your devices where TimeYourWeb is installed. This ensures consistent data collection and synchronization.

Data Processing: Sometimes, there can be a slight delay in the processing and display of synchronized data, especially if there's a large volume of data to be handled.

If you continue to experience issues or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We're here to ensure you have the best experience with TimeYourWeb.

Best regards,
TimeYourWeb Support Team

Has become erratic and unreliable

Recently I discovered that I had no record of working on a set of documents at a time period when I had done several hours of work on them. Just yesterday I saw the same thing happen, where there was simply no indication that I'd done work I'd done.

I've also had problems with not being able to get a report for certain time periods, especially recent ones. That is, I'll choose a date range and the "working" icon will spin and spin but never load any results. Seems to happen for some time periods and not others.

Is there anything I can do? I've loved this extension since I discovered it but it's not really very useful like this.

So just to summarize, there are multiple issues.

* There has been work I know I've spent hours on that simply appears to have not been recorded at all.
* Sometimes I don't get results, just a working icon forever.
* Sometimes the data disappears. But sometimes It reappears.

I'll add something else: Yesterday all but 2 days of data was missing, but now it all seems to be back!

Can't see today's date

Hi there,
My time tracker seems to be stuck on September 8th. The calendar dates beyond September 8th are grayed out and I can't click on them. I can see some of the older dates, but everything after September 8 is not accessible, can you look into this please?

Seems to be tracking time again, but date selector no longer works

Although the extension seems to be tracking time again, it is currently stuck on a certain day and the popup calendar date selector doesn't work. The calendar pops up when clicking on the icon, but clicking on a day or range (two days) doesn't have any effect on the main time tracking window.
