Press \, say less. KeySlash is a simple, privacy-friendly text expander for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox. Save frequently used text behind short backslash shortcuts, then type the shortcut in almost any text field on the web to instantly expand it. For example: \gen → General Text for testing purpose \sig → Best regards, Aryan Instead of repeatedly typing the same text, create a shortcut once and reuse it wherever you need it. KEY FEATURES • Expand text almost anywhere Works with regular text inputs, textareas, contenteditable editors, and editors inside iframes. • Create your own shortcuts Use shortcuts such as \gen, \sig, \addr, or anything you choose. • Configurable trigger character Use the default backslash (\), or change the trigger character to another character such as ; or /. • Choose when expansion happens Expand immediately when the shortcut is complete, wait until Space or Enter, or expand only when Tab is pressed. • Shortcut suggestions Start typing your trigger character to see matching shortcuts near your cursor. Use the arrow keys to navigate, Tab to insert, or Esc to dismiss. • Dynamic placeholders Automatically insert dynamic values into your snippets using: {date}, {time}, {datetime}, {iso}, {weekday}, {day}, {month}, {year}, and {uuid}. You can also use {cursor} to control where the cursor lands after expansion. • Import and export Export your complete snippet library or selected snippets as JSON. Import snippets to merge them with your existing library or replace the library entirely. • Per-site controls Temporarily disable KeySlash everywhere with the master switch, or exclude individual websites where you don't want text expansion. • Keyboard shortcuts Alt+Shift+E opens the snippet manager. Alt+Shift+X turns text expansion on or off. Tab can force an expansion before the cursor. • Customizable interface Use light or dark mode, resize the manager panels, and sort snippets by custom order, shortcut, creation date, or usage. PRIVACY FIRST KeySlash does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Your snippets, preferences, usage counts, theme settings, and disabled-site list are stored locally in your browser. KeySlash does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, remote code, or external servers. The extension only examines the text immediately around your cursor when looking for one of your shortcuts. Password fields and one-time-code fields are deliberately skipped.
