Overview
Keyboard-first new tab: one key opens your pages, folders and searches. Themes, wallpapers, safe sync, and an on-page overlay.
Keyboard-first new tab for single-key access to your most-used pages and searches. KeyJump turns your new tab into a keyboard-first launcher. Give every bookmark, search and folder a single key, then jump without breaking flow โ no mouse, no address-bar detours. Why KeyJump: - โก Single-key launch: press one key and you're there. Alt+key opens in a new tab. - ๐ Search shortcuts: "y" locks the bar into YouTube mode โ type the term, hit Enter. Works for Google, GitHub, DeepL, or any site with a %s search URL. - โจ๏ธ Command syntax: type "gs capybara" and the g โ s search runs with "capybara" โ keys and term in one line. Tab locks an engine into the bar; recent searches appear underneath. - ๐ Folders: group shortcuts by context (work, personal, research). Folders have keys too, so anything nested is just a short key path away. Icons from a built-in library or any URL. - ๐ฅ Bookmark import: bring your browser bookmarks over in one click โ pick the folders, and each becomes a KeyJump folder with keys assigned automatically. Offered on first run, always available in Settings. - ๐ค AI as a search key: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity are one keystroke + your prompt away โ they're built-in search templates like any other engine. - ๐งญ Two start views: a clean, spotlight-style search page or the full shortcut grid โ flip anytime with "." . Search works the same in both. - ๐งฒ Save from anywhere: Alt+Shift+K saves the page you're on. If it's a search results page, KeyJump offers the reusable search instead of a frozen bookmark. - ๐ฅ Overlay launcher: Alt+K opens the full launcher on top of any page โ same shortcuts, same keys, without leaving the tab. - ๐จ Personalization: themes, custom accents, wallpapers (gallery, your own uploads, or a random one per tab), aurora and pattern background layers, tile size and layout, per-folder widths. - ๐ Safe cross-device sync: sign in (email, Google or GitHub) and your whole setup syncs as one document. Two-way and conflict-safe โ nothing is ever silently overwritten. Works fully local without an account. - ๐ Fast by design: a warm new tab renders instantly and makes zero network requests. How it works: 1. Install KeyJump and open a new tab โ a short built-in tour shows you around. 2. Add shortcuts (+) and folders (#) with your preferred keys. 3. Press a key to jump. Or just type: matching shortcuts, folders and commands appear as you go, and Enter falls back to your default search engine. Privacy and data: - Local-first: everything lives in your browser. Sign-in and sync are optional. - No host access at install: icon caching and bookmark import are optional permissions you grant in the moment โ and can revoke anytime. - New tabs make no network calls; site icons and wallpapers are cached on your device. - The overlay appears only when you invoke it and does not read or modify page content. - activeTab and scripting are used only on your explicit action (Alt+K / Alt+Shift+K / toolbar click) to show the overlay or read the page's URL and title for a new shortcut.
