KeyFlip — Keyboard Layout Converter
Overview
Typed in the wrong keyboard layout? Flip text back with one trigger. English, Arabic, Russian, Hebrew, German, French & more.
KeyFlip — Keyboard Layout Converter You look up from the keyboard and the sentence you just typed reads اثممخ instead of hello. KeyFlip fixes it in place — no retyping, no copy-paste, no switching tabs. HOW IT WORKS Type, notice the mistake, tap Ctrl twice. KeyFlip detects which keyboard layout each word was typed in and rewrites it in the layout you meant. It works in both directions automatically, even inside mixed text, and only touches the word at your cursor or the text you've selected. WORKS EVERYWHERE YOU TYPE Plain inputs, text areas, rich editors (Gmail, Notion, Slack, Google Docs comments), chat widgets, iframes and shadow-DOM fields. Formatting and undo history are preserved — Ctrl+Z reverts a flip like any other edit. 11 LAYOUTS BUILT IN, UNLIMITED CUSTOM English (US), Arabic (101), Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Persian, German (QWERTZ), French (AZERTY), Spanish, Turkish (Q) and Greek. Pick your pair, or add extra layouts to recognise three or more at once. Need something else? Duplicate any layout and edit the key grid, or import one as JSON. FIRE IT YOUR WAY • Double-tap a key (default Ctrl ×2) • A key combination or a key sequence you record yourself • Right-click → "Flip with KeyFlip" • A browser-level shortcut (Alt+Shift+K) for sites that swallow key presses • A floating Flip button next to the field you're typing in • Pair-specific triggers — e.g. Alt ×2 for English ⇄ Russian SMART, BUT NEVER PUSHY When a word you just typed looks like it came from the wrong layout, a small Flip button pulses beside the field. Turn on auto-flip and KeyFlip corrects it the moment you hit space — one tap of your trigger puts it back exactly as it was. FINE CONTROL Per-character overrides, keep-punctuation mode, adjustable tap timing, toast position, disable per site, and usage statistics (counters only). PRIVATE BY DESIGN KeyFlip runs entirely on your device. It never sends text anywhere, never reads password fields, and stores only your settings, layouts and usage counters. No account, no network, no tracking. Interface available in English, Arabic, Spanish and French. Light and dark themes. Right-to-left aware. Open source · MIT licence
