Overview
Track TikTok feed task sessions, cache them locally, and upload summaries when complete.
We are a research team at UC Berkeley studying the effects of short-form videos on cognition. In our experimental design, participants will undergo a period of TikTok exposure. We will use this extension to measure their exposure duration, and use the total number of swipes / swipe intervals to determine whether they are actually watching short-form videos rather than simply leaving the app idle. This allows us to filter for valid experimental data.
