Overview

Find possible marketplace copies of MakerWorld models and prepare IP report links or evidence lists.

Find possible unauthorised copies of your MakerWorld models on eBay and quickly prepare eBay IP reports. IP Reporter helps MakerWorld creators search eBay for possible listings using their designs, review likely matches, and pre-populate the eBay IP reporting form with the relevant item details and report wording. It does not submit reports automatically; you review everything before submitting. Main workflow: Install the extension, visit your MakerWorld models page, then click the eBay button on a model card to begin. The extension scans eBay, finds possible matches, scores them by likelihood, and shows the results with images, item numbers and match reasons. Select the listings you want to report, click “Prepare selected reports”, then open each prepared eBay report link one at a time. Opened reports are marked so you can keep track. Before opening a report, you can select extra report details such as whether the seller is using your images, has modified your design, added a watermark, or has previously been contacted. The eBay reporting page is then opened and pre-populated where possible. Review the content, upload any supporting evidence such as MakerWorld screenshots, CAD screenshots, etc.. then submit the report yourself. Manual workflow: If you find one of your designs while browsing eBay, a “Report IP” button appears on the item page. Click it, paste your MakerWorld model link, select the relevant report options, and IP Reporter will prepare the eBay report for you. ---- Etsy and Vinted reporting Two buttons now available, Etsy doesn't work in quite the same way, as it blocks your IP if trying to do rapid checking. You also can’t really do auto reporting with Etsy, you’ll need to have your assets logged in Etsy, then file reports in the portal. Once you’ve done that, you need to report the items, what this does, is help you find some and generates a list of them for you to work with. Click the Etsy button, A new Etsy window opens with a pre-populated search page, with a popup, bottom right. Click "Import Visible Etsy results" and the similar tickbox screen appears, tick the matching items and click prepare, it then generates you a text list of the offending items to report in the Etsy Portal. Vinted - This works in a more automated way, however, Vinted want you to fill in a full IP takedown report, so this one is possibly not all that useful other than to find items to report.
