Compare Two Texts helps you compare text and documents side by side, find differences and edit the result. Check a revised document, review a supplier's spreadsheet or fill in a printed blank on a supported PDF — then download or print your work. COMPARE, EDIT, SAVE 1. Open the extension and choose two files to compare, or use Edit & export for one file. 2. Review highlighted differences and make your changes. 3. Download the result or print it using the options available for that format. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Compare TXT and Word DOCX text, PDFs with selectable text, and CSV/TSV or Excel XLSX tables. • See two versions next to each other, move between differences and edit text in the comparison workspace. • For spreadsheets, choose a sheet, match rows by an identifier and select the columns to check. Edit cell values and copy a missing row from A to B. • Review changed currency amounts and percentages in text, Word and supported PDF comparisons with Amounts & percentages. • In Edit & export, work on a single document. On supported text-based PDFs, click detected printed blanks to enter information, or use Add text to place an entry. Text size adjusts to the available space; Format provides manual controls. • Export supported Word DOCX documents to PDF with a preview before download. Supported headers, footers, page numbers and plain horizontal rules are included; pagination and font appearance may differ from Word. LOCAL PROCESSING AND ENCRYPTED DRAFTS Document processing takes place on your device. The extension works offline and does not upload your documents to a server for comparison or editing. Saved drafts are automatically encrypted with AES-GCM-256. The key stays in your browser profile, allowing you to continue without a password. This is not a password-protected vault, and downloaded documents are not encrypted by this feature. Drafts expire after seven days without opening or saving them and are removed the next time you open the app. Website and extension drafts are stored separately, without automatic syncing. Download a copy of your finished work. BEFORE YOU START • The editor interface is currently in English. Translated store descriptions do not change the editor language. • Input files can be up to 2 MiB each. • PDFs need a text layer: scanned images without text are not supported, and there is no OCR. Printed blanks are different from interactive PDF form fields; interactive fields and PDF comments are not supported. • Images and formatting are not compared. PDF layout preservation depends on the document; complex layouts may require text-only export. Word layout may differ from Microsoft Word. • DOCX footnotes, endnotes and comments need to be moved into the main paragraphs of a copy before import. • Two-file spreadsheet comparison requires a single header row, no merged cells and values instead of formulas.
