Tile Chrome windows like tmux panes — keyboard splits, a retro pane picker, and save/load workspaces to disk.

PRIMITIVE KEYBINDINGS. MODERN MULTIPLEXING. Cro-Muxon brings tmux-style window tiling to Chrome. Instead of juggling tabs, it splits and manages real, native browser windows as panes — arranged, resized, and navigated entirely from the keyboard. SPLIT AND TILE Turn any window into the root of a workspace, then split it horizontally or vertically to tile new panes across your screen. Panes stay snapped to their neighbors: resize one edge and the adjoining pane follows, just like a terminal multiplexer. Need to focus on one pane for a moment without losing the layout underneath? Press f in the dashboard — or click the already-active pane again — to zoom it, filling most of the screen with a configurable padding so the other panes still peek out around the edges, and never covering the dashboard itself. Press Esc, or click the zoomed pane again, to snap it right back. Your split layout never changes underneath, it's purely a temporary view. A RETRO COMMAND DASHBOARD Pop open a terminal-styled pane picker to see every workspace and pane at a glance, jump straight to any pane, rename a workspace, or open a URL — complete with history and bookmark autocomplete. Click a workspace's header to collapse it out of the way when you don't need to see its panes. Press t, or click the header icon, to shrink the dashboard down to a narrow strip of just workspace names — a lightweight quick-switcher you can leave open at the edge of the screen, fully keyboard-navigable (search included) and with export, import, new-workspace, and close-workspace all still available. A setting in the dashboard ("Keep visible") can even shrink the active workspace's rightmost panes just enough that the dashboard — thin or full — is never covered in the first place. Your layout survives a full browser restart, not just a crash — it's recreated automatically the next time Chrome launches. KEYBOARD-FIRST, ALWAYS - Alt+Shift+C — toggle the dashboard - Alt+Shift+V / Alt+Shift+H — split vertically / horizontally - Alt+Shift+D — close the active pane - Inside the dashboard: h/j/k/l or the arrow keys to navigate (h/l/Left/Right collapse or expand a workspace), Shift+Up/Shift+Down (or Shift+K/Shift+J) to jump to the next/previous workspace, Alt+Shift+Up/Alt+Shift+Down (or Alt+Shift+K/Alt+Shift+J) to reorder the workspace under the cursor, a number key to jump straight to that workspace, / to filter the pane list, Enter to jump, n for a new root, r to rename, Shift+D to close every pane in the selected workspace at once, Shift+M to fold every workspace closed at once (Shift+O to open them all back up), : or o to open a URL, e/Shift+E to export the current/entire workspace(s), i to import a layout, y/p to yank/put a pane's URL to another pane without switching to either one, d to blank a pane back to the empty-pane start page, f (or clicking an already-active pane again) to zoom it, Space to zoom it and jump focus into it regardless of Keep focus on navigator, Esc or clicking the zoomed pane again to zoom back out, c or the gear icon for settings (modal while open — v/f toggle Keep visible/Keep focus on navigator directly, z rotates zoom padding through presets — live if a pane is currently zoomed, c/Esc/q closes it), q/Esc to close - Right-click any link on the web → "Open link in New Cro-Muxon workspace" - Right-click any page → mouse equivalents of split vertical/horizontal, close pane, and open navigator; right-click the dashboard itself for its own menu (new workspace, import/export, fold/unfold all, close navigator) - Full reference: https://zenbum.github.io/cro-muxon/shortcuts.html EXPORT AND IMPORT YOUR LAYOUT Export a single workspace's tree — pane structure, sizes, and tab URLs — to a JSON file with e, or the entire session with Shift+E. Importing a file adds it as a new workspace alongside whatever's already open, so restoring a saved layout never destroys other work in progress. A workspace named "default" always lands in the first slot, so it's the same reliable home base import after import. Your session also survives a full browser restart on its own, no manual export/import needed. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Cro-Muxon makes no network requests and collects nothing. Every bit of state it keeps — your workspace layout, pane bounds, tab info — stays on your device in Chrome's local extension storage. Nothing is ever sent anywhere.
