MailBrief brings inbox summaries and a dedicated email-writing workspace to Gmail. INBOX: CATCH UP WITH LESS READING • Choose a Daily brief with a short overview, To do list and For your information section, or browse individual Email list cards. • Filter Gmail categories, read/unread status, or specific sender addresses and domains. • Browse small batches with Previous and Next. Switch already-generated views instantly during the open panel session. • Open the original email from a summary and draft a reply using your own instructions. COMPOSE: TURN YOUR INSTRUCTIONS INTO AN EMAIL • Switch to Compose beside the MailBrief logo to write a new email—not just a reply. • Describe what you want to say and choose a professional, friendly, concise or formal tone. • Generate both the subject and body automatically, then edit them before opening Gmail. • Add up to five PDFs, Word documents, TXT files or supported images, sharing 15 MB total, as optional context. Tell MailBrief how to use them. • Reuse selected files for more drafts while the panel stays open. Restore a previous version or optionally keep your four most recent drafts in this Chrome profile. • Open an unsent Gmail composer with your reviewed fields. MailBrief never sends email automatically. Attach original files manually in Gmail if needed. GUIDED SETUP A first-use walkthrough explains Gmail read-only access, adding and testing your own eligible Google Gemini API key, summaries and drafting. Light and dark themes are available. IMPORTANT DETAILS Summaries use email subjects and short previews, not complete Gmail messages. Selected previews, drafting instructions and chosen file content are sent directly to Google Gemini when you request AI help. MailBrief does not operate a server that receives this content. Your key and optional recent drafts are stored locally in your Chrome profile, not synced; they are not an encrypted password vault. Selected files stay in panel memory until removed, replaced or the panel closes. Each generation using them sends their content again to Gemini and uses your quota. Google determines API eligibility, model availability, quotas and any charges. MailBrief does not include an AI allowance or promise unlimited free use. Review Google's current service and data-processing terms before using personal or confidential content. AI output may be incorrect—review every summary and draft.
