Overview
Turn any site into a palette, pick colors, audit contrast, simulate color blindness, and try palettes on live pages.
ColorFlare brings a full color toolkit to every website you open. Capture the palette a site actually uses, pick any color on screen, read how an element is built, audit a page's contrast, try your own palettes on the live page, and see it the way a color-blind visitor does. PAGE: ANY WEBSITE, AS A PALETTE Open the popup on a site and ColorFlare reads the colors the page paints with, plus a screenshot of the visible area for photos and illustrations. You get up to eight colors with their roles (background, surface, primary, text, accent), pinned to where each one sits. Copy them as a hex list, CSS variables, Tailwind v4 or v3, SCSS or JSON, or save them to your ColorFlare account. PICKER: ANY PIXEL ON SCREEN The eyedropper reads anything you can see, even outside the browser. Every pick is copied, named from a library of about 31,900 color names, and collected so you can save a set as a palette. INSPECT: HOVER ANYTHING The inspector shows the text, background and border colors of the element under the cursor with the nearest Tailwind token, gradient stops, font, size, weight, line height, radius and padding. It measures the text against the background it really sits on, with WCAG ratios for normal and large text and the APCA lightness contrast. When text fails, it suggests a color of the same hue that passes. CONTRAST: AUDIT THE WHOLE PAGE One scan checks every text element and groups the results by color pair, failures first, each with a same-hue fix you can copy. Click a pair and the page dims around the elements that use it, with arrow keys to step through them. RECOLOR: TRY A PALETTE ON THE LIVE PAGE Pick a palette and the page is repainted in place. Backgrounds, surfaces, text, buttons and borders are mapped by role, and text is kept readable, so you see how a palette behaves as an interface. Swatches, logos and images are left alone. Choose from the palette you just captured, your picks, the ColorFlare library or your own saved palettes, and reset in one click. VISION: COLOR-BLIND SIMULATION Simulate deuteranopia, protanopia, tritanopia or achromatopsia on the page, images included, with severity from a mild anomaly to full dichromacy. It stacks on top of Recolor, so you can check a palette and its accessibility together. PRIVATE BY DESIGN ColorFlare reads a page only when you open it on that tab. Everything is processed on your device. Nothing about the pages you visit is sent anywhere unless you save a palette. No analytics, no ads, no third-party requests. Most features work without an account. A free ColorFlare account lets you save palettes, file them into collections and recolor pages with your saved palettes.
