Bookmark Rot finds the decay in your bookmark tree and cleans it with an undo for every deletion. WHAT ONE SCAN FINDS - Duplicate bookmarks: the same page saved more than once, matched after tracking parameters are stripped. The oldest copy is kept and the newer copies are pre-selected for removal. - Exact twins: same title and same address saved twice. - Empty folders, including folders that only contain other empty folders. - Near-duplicate folders whose links mostly overlap, with a one-click merge into the first folder (Pro). - Never opened: bookmarks with no visit in your browsing history on or after the day they were saved (Pro, uses the history permission, about 90 days of history). - Link health: every saved link checked and sorted into Dead, Alive, or Unverified (Pro, requires the optional all-sites permission). THREE-WAY VERDICTS, NO GUESSING A link is Dead only when its server answers 404 or 410. It is Alive on a healthy 2xx response. Everything else (blocked, rate-limited, timed out, unreachable, parked, or a DNS failure) lands in Unverified, and nothing in Unverified is ever offered for deletion. EVERY DELETION HAS AN UNDO Each clean is recorded first (title, address, folder, position) in a local restore archive. One click brings a batch back. Chrome does not let extensions restore the original bookmark ID or its original date added, so restore recreates a faithful copy in the same place; the archive view says so in plain words.
