Overview

Capture complete webpages as local PNG or PDF files, with same-domain discovery and a three-page Site Batch preview.

Kapture IT is a local-first full-page capture and website documentation tool from Kalidonis LLC. Capture the webpage you are viewing, review the assembled result, and download it as PNG or PDF—without sending screenshot content to a remote capture service. Use Kapture IT for website documentation, quality assurance, design review, marketing archives, support records, change-management evidence, accessibility preflight, and other workflows where a dependable view of the rendered page matters. CAPTURE THE WHOLE RENDERED PAGE Kapture IT scrolls through the active webpage, captures each visible section, and assembles the sections into one complete image in your browser. It supports vertical and horizontal overflow, restores the original scroll position, and can detect a dominant inner scrolling area used by many dashboards and web applications. After processing, you can: • Download a full-page PNG. • Download a locally generated, paginated Letter PDF. • Review the output dimensions and a scaled preview. • Download a PNG with an optional one-page Capture Report PDF containing a thumbnail, URL, viewport, output dimensions, capture time, section count, quality-check summary, and SHA-256 fingerprint. • Capture another page without maintaining an online screenshot history. LOCAL-FIRST BY DESIGN Screenshot pixels are processed in extension memory on your device. Kapture IT does not upload screenshot content, page text, CSV manifests, capture results, accessibility findings, cookies, passwords, form values, or browsing history to Kalidonis LLC. Downloaded files remain under your control and are subject to your browser, device, backup, synchronization, and organization-management settings. CAPTURE VERIFICATION AND QUALITY CHECKS Kapture IT is designed to fail visibly when a capture cannot be trusted instead of silently presenting an obviously incomplete result as successful. During capture, Kapture IT checks signals including: • The expected browser tab and committed page URL. • Page identity before each captured section. • Requested and observed scroll positions. • Viewport and screenshot dimensions. • Document-height changes during capture. • Dynamic hero, carousel, animation, and video state. • Output dimensions, section count, and nonblank image variation. Successful PNG captures calculate a SHA-256 fingerprint. When “PNG + Capture Report PDF” is selected, Kapture IT creates a local one-page report containing capture metadata, a scaled thumbnail, dynamic-content findings, accessibility-preflight results, and the fingerprint. Batch results CSV files can record the final URL, page title, viewport, output size, capture time, section count, integrity status, and PNG fingerprint. These checks help detect common capture problems, but they do not establish that the source webpage was true, complete, authentic, lawful, or unchanged before capture. They are not a legal or evidentiary certification. Always review important captures before relying on or distributing them. DYNAMIC PAGES, HEROES, AND CAROUSELS Animated heroes, carousels, transitions, and video can change while a page is being captured. Kapture IT checks for these elements and freezes supported animation during the capture operation. If monitored state changes would mix different page states into one image, Kapture IT can stop the capture rather than knowingly assemble inconsistent sections. A carousel report describes the currently visible state only. Kapture IT does not claim to capture every hidden carousel slide automatically. Additional slides or interactive states should be reviewed and captured separately when required. SITE BATCH PREVIEW — INCLUDED FREE The Free plan includes a three-page Site Batch Preview so you can test the discover, edit, capture, and results workflow. With Site Batch Preview you can: • Enter a base website domain. • Discover eligible same-domain pages from sitemap files and bounded link discovery. • Review discovered URLs in a capture manifest. • Choose up to three pages for a preview run. • Export an editable three-page CSV. • Edit the include and notes fields, then upload the CSV again. • Run a first-item Test Capture. • Capture the selected preview pages and download a results CSV. CSV imports are validated locally. External domains, unsupported URL schemes, duplicate URLs, malformed entries, and invalid include values are rejected before capture. KAPTURE IT PRO — COMING SOON Kapture IT Pro is not currently available for purchase in version 0.5.0. The included three-page Site Batch Preview lets users evaluate the workflow now. Planned Pro capabilities are designed for professionals and organizations that need repeatable multi-page documentation and quality-review workflows. Availability, final features, and pricing will be announced by Kalidonis LLC. Planned Pro features include: • Site Batch capture for up to 100 selected URLs per run. • Same-domain discovery from sitemaps, robots.txt declarations, and bounded page-link crawling. • Editable CSV import and export for choosing exactly which URLs are captured. • One-page Test Capture before committing to a larger queue. • Sequential capture in a dedicated browser window. • Ordered, sanitized download folders and filenames. • Batch results with capture status and verification evidence for each URL. • Fixed content-viewport profiles for repeatable desktop, laptop, tablet-width, and compact-width capture. • Hero, carousel, animation, and video detection and stability reporting. • Selectable WCAG 2.2 automated preflight categories. • Organization licensing and managed Chrome or Edge deployment options. Planned features, limits, availability, and pricing may change before Pro is released. WCAG 2.2 AUTOMATED PREFLIGHT Planned Pro functionality can run selectable automated preflight checks organized around the WCAG principles of Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. Checks can identify signals such as: • Missing image alternatives. • Document language and page-title issues. • Form-label availability. • Duplicate element IDs. • ARIA-reference problems. • Focus-related signals. • Selected document-structure concerns. Automated checks cannot evaluate every WCAG success criterion or determine overall conformance. Kapture IT results are not a WCAG certification, accessibility audit, legal opinion, or guarantee of compliance. Knowledgeable human testing—including keyboard, screen-reader, content, design, and user evaluation—remains necessary. PLANNED ORGANIZATION DEPLOYMENT Planned organization deployment will allow browser-managed policy to configure an organization ID and license key with the extension. A signed, short-lived entitlement will unlock the purchased Pro capabilities. A locally cached, signed grace period is designed to prevent a temporary licensing-service outage from immediately interrupting work. The planned organization workflow is designed so employees will not need to create individual Kapture IT accounts or enter payment information. IT administrators will be able to use Chrome or Edge management tools to install the extension and apply organization policy. When organization licensing becomes available, licensing checks may send the organization ID, organization license key, and extension ID to the Kapture IT entitlement service. Licensing checks will be separate from capture processing and will not include screenshots, page URLs, page text, CSV files, capture results, WCAG findings, browsing history, cookies, passwords, form values, or authentication tokens. PASSWORD-PROTECTED AND SIGNED-IN PAGES Kapture IT can capture many ordinary signed-in webpages when you already have authorization and the page is open in the active browser tab. Kapture IT does not request, read, transmit, or store your password, cookies, or authentication tokens, and it does not bypass login requirements, access controls, or website permissions. A screenshot may contain information visibly rendered on the webpage. You are responsible for reviewing and protecting downloaded captures that contain personal, confidential, regulated, or proprietary information. Some protected applications use unusual rendering, several competing scroll areas, canvas, WebGL, virtualized content, cross-origin frames, or security controls that prevent complete capture. Use Test Capture and review the output before starting an important batch. BOUNDED WEBSITE ACCESS Single-page capture uses temporary access to the active tab after you invoke Kapture IT. Site Batch asks for runtime access only to the website domain you choose so it can discover eligible links, follow same-domain HTTP-to-HTTPS redirects, and run the packaged capture controller. Kapture IT does not receive permanent access to every website merely because Site Batch is available. If Pro licensing is enabled in a future release, it will communicate only with the configured Kapture IT entitlement-service origin used to verify paid access. Kapture IT contains no remotely downloaded executable code. LOCAL PREFERENCES Kapture IT can retain non-sensitive preferences in the browser profile, including: • The selected Downloads subfolder. • The selected output format. • The selected viewport profile. • Accessibility-check selections. • Up to five recent discovery manifests. Recent discovery entries can contain the base domain, discovery time, subdomain preference, and discovered URLs. You can clear recent discovery history from Site Batch. Screenshot pixels and completed captures are not stored in the recent-discovery cache. If Pro organization licensing is enabled in a future release, the browser profile may also cache a signed entitlement containing the organization ID, plan, capabilities, limits, and signed expiration dates. IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS Chrome prevents extensions from capturing browser-internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, extension pages, and certain other protected surfaces. Extremely large pages can exceed browser image or memory limits and may be downscaled or rejected. Infinite scrolling, constantly changing pages, virtualized lists, complex embedded applications, video, canvas, WebGL, cross-origin frames, and multiple competing scrolling areas can produce incomplete or inconsistent output. Some webpages load content only after user interaction. Kapture IT does not automatically open menus, accept dialogs, expand accordions, advance hidden carousel slides, play videos, or reproduce every interactive website state. The target webpage must remain active during capture because Chrome captures the visible active tab. Kapture IT verifies the tab and page identity and can stop if the user switches away or the page navigates unexpectedly. Use Test Capture and visually review important output before relying on a capture or starting a larger batch. USE RESPONSIBLY Capture only websites and information you are authorized to access and document. You are responsible for complying with applicable law, confidentiality obligations, contracts, intellectual-property rights, website terms, retention requirements, and your organization’s security policies. Protect downloaded files that contain personal, confidential, regulated, or proprietary information.
