Enhance your gaming experience using this feature rich extension for NYT Games! Games Plus for NYT adds dark mode, a fullscreen view and keyboard shortcuts to the New York Times games on nytimes.com. Unofficial: not affiliated with or endorsed by The New York Times. DARK MODE Play on a dark background that is easier on the eyes, in the Crosswords, Connections, and Spelling Bee. Great for playing at night! Every highlight stays easy to tell apart and it works for colour-blind players too. Prefer the original look? Switch the theme back to NYT Default to keep it light but with all the other features still available. FULLSCREEN One click, or Alt+F (Option+F on a Mac), makes the game fill your window. The NYT menu bar stays available at the top. Click again to go back. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS Do common things without reaching for the mouse: • Crosswords: hold Shift to write in pencil (or set Shift to switch pencil on and off) • Connections: shuffle (Alt+S) or deselect all (Alt+D) • Or rebind any of the existing shortcuts to what you like best! On a Mac, use Option instead of Alt. Every shortcut can be changed to the keys you prefer. The games' own keys, such as Esc for a rebus square in the crossword, are listed right next to them and can be changed too. CROSSWORD OPTIONS • Red pencil: penciled letters show in red • Clue bar: above the clue lists, hidden, or where NYT puts it • Larger clue text: to make reading from far away a little easier PRIVACY The extension runs only on the nytimes.com games pages. It needs one permission, "storage", to remember your settings, which are saved in your Chrome profile and nowhere else. It does not collect data, does not use your NYT account, does not change puzzles or answers, and sends nothing anywhere.
