kanso adds a comment thread to any web page — and the comments are Bluesky posts. Open the side panel on any page and kanso shows the Bluesky discussion about that exact page: a real reply thread you can read and join. Sign in with your existing Bluesky account and your comments are posted to your own account (your atproto repo) — not stored in a private database, not locked to this extension. If you stop using kanso, your comments are still yours and still on Bluesky. The name 簡素 (kanso) means simplicity and austerity: no new account, no new database of record, no lock-in. The comment IS a Bluesky post; the thread IS a Bluesky reply tree. What you get • A live thread for the page you're on, updating as you browse. • Post your own comment about a page, with a rich link-card preview. • Reply into existing threads and see who else is discussing the page. • Reply-restricted posts are clearly marked; blocked accounts are hidden. • Stay signed in between sessions — your app password is never stored. • A visible #kanso tag on each post so anyone can find the wider conversation on Bluesky. Privacy by design kanso talks only to Bluesky's own servers. No analytics, no tracking, no remote code, no third-party servers. It stays dormant on Bluesky's own site. How it works kanso finds the canonical Bluesky post for a page — matched by the page URL and a content hash of it — and shows the reply tree hanging off it. Your comments are ordinary Bluesky posts (app.bsky.feed.post) with a link-card embed. Signing in Use a Bluesky App Password (bsky.app → Settings → App Passwords). kanso trades it once for a session token and never stores the password itself. You can revoke access anytime from your Bluesky settings.
