"YouTube Live Chat Wide Layout" is a Chrome extension that enhances YouTube's theater mode (press 't'). It eliminates wasted space and black bars from the tab, filling the screen with just the video and live chat. With standard F11 fullscreen you lose access to other tabs — but this extension lets you **"keep the browser tab bar while expanding video and chat to their maximum size."** Great for background viewing on standard 16:9 monitors, and highly effective at eliminating black side bars on ultrawide displays. ✨ Key Features: **Eliminate Black Bars & Wasted Space** Even on ultrawide monitors, black side bars disappear and video + chat expand to fill the entire tab. **Freely Adjust Chat Width** Click the extension icon to open the popup and use the slider to set your preferred chat panel width. **Access to Action Buttons** Even in expanded view, the Like, Share, Clip, and other action buttons are automatically repositioned to the top of the chat panel — making it easy to support the streamer. **Auto Live Sync** Automatically detects live stream delay. Small delays are corrected by gently increasing playback speed; large delays snap instantly to the live edge. Stay in sync with the chat and never miss a moment. The check interval (10s–10min) and lag tolerance (1–30s) can be freely adjusted with sliders in the popup. **Description Pane (Experimental)** Automatically displays the YouTube video description in a side pane during theater mode. YouTube's internal snippet elements are now skipped and the full description text is retrieved directly. v1.16 Experimentally added a Description Pane. Also fixed a thumbnail display bug on the YouTube home page and improved action menu restoration reliability.
