Look up any Japanese word in seconds. Collect words as you read — and actually use them. KanjiDraw turns any Japanese page into study material. It marks the words you are learning wherever you meet them, and gives you the reading and meaning of anything else in one click, without leaving the page. SEE WHAT YOU KNOW Installing asks for nothing. The first time you open the extension it offers to switch marking on — for the site you are on, or for every site — and you can change or withdraw that at any time. Every word from your kanjidraw.com vocabulary is marked wherever you read Japanese — underlined, or washed in highlighter, whichever you prefer. Three colours tell you where each word stands: one for a word you have only just started on, one for a word you are learning, one for a word you have learned. A word you take up again starts over as new. Matching follows inflection, so a saved 覚える marks 覚えました, 面白い marks 面白かった, and 勉強 marks 勉強して. LOOK ANYTHING UP Shift+click any Japanese word — marked or not — for its reading and meaning right there on the page. Clicking the middle of a compound still resolves the whole word: Shift+click 強 in 勉強しています and you get 勉強. Select a phrase and tap Shift to look up exactly what you selected. KEEP IT Add a word to your vocabulary in one click, or move one between learning and learned, straight from the lookup card. Everything syncs with kanjidraw.com, so what you save while reading is waiting for you in the Vocabulary Builder — and what you add on the site is marked on the pages you read. SEARCH WITHOUT A CONNECTION The popup carries the dictionary: 22,000 common words and 6,400 kanji, searchable by kanji, kana, romaji, or English or Russian meaning. It is bundled with the extension, so it answers instantly and works offline. Rarer words are fetched from kanjidraw.com when you need them. Under the search box you will find what you recently searched for and looked up, with one button to clear it. ENGLISH OR RUSSIAN Interface and meanings both, following your browser by default and switchable in settings. PRIVACY The extension does not read your browsing. Page text is matched against your own word list on your machine and goes nowhere; no request carries page content or a page address. The words you choose to save go to your own kanjidraw.com account and nowhere else. Recent lookups stay on your device and can be cleared at any time. You need a free kanjidraw.com account for the vocabulary features. Sign in on the site once and the extension connects itself — it never asks for your password.
