Kanaful makes Japanese webpages easier to read by displaying hiragana readings above kanji. Choose the reading style that suits you: • Show all — add furigana throughout the page • Hover — read the word beneath your pointer • Highlight — select a word or phrase to see its reading • Off — restore the original page Text selection overrides Hover mode, making longer phrases easy to inspect. Reading popovers can include links to Jisho, Google Translate, ChatGPT, and Grok. Choose which links are shown, and customize the prompt used when opening AI services. A reset button makes it easy to restore Kanaful’s learner-focused default prompt. Customize furigana using seven colors and sizes from 70% to 300%. Your reading mode, appearance, link visibility, and AI prompt settings sync through Chrome. The toolbar icon follows your chosen color while Kanaful is enabled and turns gray when it is off. Kanaful processes Japanese text locally on your device. Page content and selections are not collected or automatically transmitted. If you click an external link, the selected word or phrase is sent to that service through its HTTPS URL; AI links also include your configured prompt.
