KaiConvert — Image Tools
Overview
Right-click any image on the web to resize, crop, compress or convert it in KaiConvert. Images stay on your device.
Right-click an image anywhere on the web and open it straight in KaiConvert — resized, cropped, compressed or converted, without saving it first. WHAT IT DOES • Adds eight tools to the right-click menu: image editor, resize, crop, compress, remove metadata, PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, PNG to WebP. • Opens the tool in a new tab with the image already loaded. • Follows the language your browser is set to — 21 languages. NOTHING IS UPLOADED The extension reads the image in your browser and hands it to the KaiConvert page through the same file picker you would use yourself. The bytes do not go through a KaiConvert server, and the extension sends them nowhere else. Only the local tools appear in the menu. KaiConvert also has cloud AI tools — background removal and the like — and those are deliberately left out of the right-click menu, because a menu entry that quietly uploaded your image would break the promise above. They stay on the website, behind their own notice. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY The extension asks for access to a website only at the moment you right-click an image on it, not at install time. Decline it and nothing else stops working. OPEN ABOUT ITS LIMITS HEIC and AVIF depend on a decoder your browser may not have. Images over 25 MB are refused rather than silently failing. The handoff expires if you leave the tab sitting for a few minutes.
