Kai: Break Reminder
Overview
Helps you reduce eye strain by reminding you to take regular breaks while browsing. Free, open source, and runs locally.
Kai reminds you to take breaks without breaking your flow. By default, it follows the 20-20-20 rule with a short break every 20 minutes. Kai automatically waits if you're in a meeting on Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, or Slack, so you won't be interrupted. You can also block specific websites where reminders should never appear. Customize your reminder interval, break duration, and snooze time. Kai can pause playing videos during a break and resume them afterward. Choose from built-in break sounds or upload your own. Everything stays on your device. No accounts, no tracking, no data collection. Kai is free, open source, and privacy-first.
