K12 Safety Alert ensures your school's emergency notifications are never missed — even when your browser is minimized or the tab is in the background. FEATURES - Real-time delivery of emergency alerts via secure push messaging - Custom alert sound playback that isn't silenced by background tab throttling - System notification with one-click acknowledgment - Simple status indicator so you always know the extension is connected HOW IT WORKS 1. Pin the extension to your toolbar so it's always visible: click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, find K12 Safety Alert, and click the pin icon next to it. 2. Sign in to your K12 Safety account as usual in your browser. The extension detects your session and registers for push notifications. 3. When your district issues an emergency alert, the extension plays the alert sound and shows a notification — even if K12 Safety isn't the active tab. Pinning keeps the extension's status visible at a glance and makes it easy to test the alert sound from the popup at any time. WHO THIS IS FOR This extension is intended for staff and administrators using the K12 Safety platform (k12safety.org) who need guaranteed audio alerts during active school hours, regardless of what else is open in their browser. PRIVACY This extension only reads your existing K12 Safety session to register for alerts. It does not collect, sell, or share personal data with third parties.
