Silent Client-Side Phishing Defense System
K-Shield scans your Gmail inbox in real time and flags phishing attempts, spoofed senders, and scam emails before you fall for them — entirely inside your browser, with nothing sent to any server. HOW IT WORKS When you open an email, K-Shield checks the sender, subject line, and message content against a set of phishing detection signals, then shows a color-coded banner directly in Gmail: Green — no threats detected Yellow — proceed with caution, some suspicious signals found Red — high-risk email, likely phishing or a scam Each banner explains, in plain language, why the email was flagged. PRIVACY K-Shield does all of its analysis locally in your browser. It does not operate a server, does not store your emails anywhere, and does not sell or share any data. Full details are in the linked privacy policy. CONTROL A single toggle in the extension popup lets you pause or resume automatic scanning at any time. K-Shield was built to give students and staff a second set of eyes on their inbox, catching the kinds of scams that specifically target university communities. Note: K-Shield is currently tailored for University of Central Missouri (UCMO) students and staff, and is not yet intended for general use outside UCMO. v 2.2: Added sender trust option, dismissible warnings, expanded scam detection.
