)Overview
Jyutping-style typing in inputs and text areas. Font (PUA) or web output; global PUA rendering on by default. RIME dicts.
Jyutcitzi is a Chrome extension for typing Cantonese using Jyutping input and outputting Jyutcitzi (粵切字). It uses the jyutcitzi-RIME dictionaries to provide accurate and faithful mappings, with no recomposition or transformation beyond the original dataset. Core features: - Jyutping input → Jyutcitzi output - Two output modes: • Font mode: outputs Unicode glyphs for supported fonts • Web mode: outputs fallback representations for universal display - Works in standard text fields across websites - Minimal, deterministic mapping (no predictive rewriting or “smart” transformations) This tool is designed for users who want precise control over Jyutcitzi rendering and input, similar in spirit to RIME-based workflows. Notes: - Rendering depends on whether the target app or website supports Jyutcitzi fonts - No cloud processing; all mappings are local Ideal for: - Cantonese language enthusiasts - Jyutcitzi users - Researchers and developers working with Cantonese orthography
