Dictation and live captions for any page. Estonian recognition runs locally on your computer, free and without an account.

Jutusta adds speech tools to the browser: dictation into any text field, live captions, tab and meeting recording, and read-aloud of selected text. Estonian speech recognition can run entirely on your own computer. ESTONIAN, ON YOUR COMPUTER Download the Estonian speech model once (about 160 MB). Estonian dictation and captions then run fully on your machine. This mode is free, needs no account or internet connection, has no usage limit, and no audio leaves the computer. DICTATION Click into any text field (a search box, a webmail composer, a rich-text editor), press Ctrl+Space and speak. Words appear as you say them. A small pill shows what has been heard so far and stops the session when you are done. Works in ordinary inputs, in contenteditable editors, and inside embedded frames. LIVE CAPTIONS Press Ctrl+Shift+F to caption what you and the tab are saying, side by side in one on-page panel: your microphone in one column, the tab's audio in the other. Works as subtitles for a meeting, a lecture stream, or a video that has no captions of its own. RECORDING Press Ctrl+Shift+E to record the current tab: its video and audio, with your microphone mixed in. Recordings are written to your own browser storage, not to a server, and survive a browser crash. The built-in library plays them back, saves them to disk, deletes them, and, only when you ask, sends the audio to Jutusta for transcription. On Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom the extension notices a call is open and offers to name the recording after it. It never starts recording on its own. WITH A JUTUSTA ACCOUNT A jutusta.ee account (free to create) adds the online features: recognition in more languages, server-based Estonian models, Estonian and English voices that read selected text aloud (Ctrl+Shift+K, streamed, so long passages start immediately), and transcription of recordings. Sign in from the extension's settings. INTERFACE The interface is in Estonian and English, follows your browser language and can be switched at any time. WHAT YOU NEED Offline Estonian needs nothing beyond the model download. The online features need a jutusta.ee account; they include a free allowance, and use beyond it spends Jutusta credits.
