Jupjup – Learn Korean from videos & websites
Overview
Learn Korean from YouTube, Netflix, and the web: hover any word, find sentences you can almost read, and save them as flashcards.
Pick up Korean from the things you already watch and read. Jupjup (줍줍, Korean slang for "picking things up") is a sentence-mining tool. It finds the sentences you can *almost* understand, so you learn new words in context, from content you actually enjoy. HOW IT WORKS • Tell Jupjup roughly how many words you know, then browse as usual. • In any sentence where you know every word but one, that word gets a green underline. • Hover it (or any Korean word) to see its dictionary form, meaning, how common it is, and how it's built. • Click "Save" to turn the word or sentence into a flashcard, with a link back to the exact moment in the video. • Review with spaced repetition (FSRS, the algorithm built into Anki), or send everything to Anki in one click. FEATURES • Hover lookups for any Korean word on any page • Clickable Korean subtitles on YouTube, Netflix, and other video sites (bilingual subtitles keep the English line) • Grammar explained in plain English: over 100 particles, endings, and patterns • Progress dashboard: how much everyday Korean you know, words learned over time, streaks, and upcoming reviews • Library to search, edit, and delete everything you've saved • On YouTube: see how much of a video you'll understand, and the new words said most often in it • Sentences you can now read in full get a soft highlight • Practice both ways: Korean → English, then English → Korean once a word sticks • Optional: keep the line's audio from the video with your card (YouTube and most players) • Send your cards to Anki (via AnkiConnect) or export a file PROMISES • No AI: real Korean, human-written dictionaries, nothing generated • Private: everything stays in your browser; no account, no tracking • Offline: the Korean analyzer and dictionary run on your computer Built with Kiwi (Korean morphological analyzer), the Basic Korean Dictionary by the National Institute of Korean Language (CC BY-SA 2.0 KR), Wiktionary (CC BY-SA), kengdic, the National Institute of Korean Language learner vocabulary list and FSRS.
