Jublu
Overview
Jublu blocks user-selected websites and replaces them with personalized, conversational messages to interrupt distracted browsing.
A website blocker that doesn't just block. Jublu replaces blocked pages with personalized, escalating messages that fit the moment, so you actually stop instead of reopening the tab. Block on your phone, blocked in Chrome, same account. Hostname-only, no page reading. The Chrome extension is included with Jublu Plus. If you already subscribe through the Jublu Android app, sign in with the same Google account and your blocking groups sync to Chrome. New here? Start a free trial in the Android app, then install this extension to block the same sites in Chrome. Most website blockers show a generic blocked screen, and a static page does not help you stay focused. You see the screen once, you click past it, and the distraction wins. Self-control runs out. Generic friction wears off. Jublu replaces the blocked screen with a conversational message tailored to how often you have tried to open the site today. Three escalating tiers: a gentle reminder on attempt one, a more direct nudge after five, and a stop-and-reflect prompt after ten. The message engine draws from seven distinct conversational tones (Supportive, Empathetic, Encouraging, Curious, Grounding, Direct, Compassionate) and matches the tone to the moment, so the message lands in a way that fits. Features - Block any website. Add hostnames in seconds, organize them into groups. Block social media (Reddit, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok), news sites, or any URL that pulls your attention. - Cross-device sync. Blocking groups, schedules, and rules sync from the Jublu Android app to Chrome via your Google account. - Schedules. Block sites only during work hours, study sessions, or specific days, so you can stay focused when it matters. - Lightweight. Uses Chrome's built-in declarativeNetRequest API. No content scripts, no page DOM reading, no slowdown. - Private. The extension reads only the hostname of pages you explicitly add to a blocking group. It does not read page content or log your browsing history. Setup in three steps 1. Subscribe to Jublu Plus on Android (free trial available in the app). 2. Install this extension and sign in with the same Google account. 3. Open any blocking group in the popup. Sites you have already added on Android sync to Chrome in seconds. Privacy Jublu checks the hostname only. The extension does not inject scripts, read what you type, access page content, or log a list of sites you visit. Hostnames you explicitly add to a blocking group are stored in your account so they sync across devices. Full privacy policy at https://jublu.app/privacy (see the Chrome extension section). FAQ Why does Jublu require a subscription? The extension uses cloud sync, conversational message generation, and analytics infrastructure that have ongoing costs. A single subscription covers both the Android app and the Chrome extension. Does it work offline? Once your blocking groups have synced to Chrome, blocking works without an internet connection. Adding new sites and changing groups requires sync. What data does Jublu collect from the extension? The extension processes hostnames you add to blocking groups, your sign-in identity (Google account), and product analytics. It does not collect page content, full URLs, browsing history, or anything you type. Details and the full processor list are in the privacy policy. What happens if my Plus subscription lapses? The extension popup will prompt you to renew. The exact behavior of existing blocking rules during a lapse is documented in the popup itself, so there are no surprises. What if I install the extension before subscribing on Android? You can install and sign in, but blocking only activates once you have an active Plus subscription on your Google account. The popup will guide you to start a free trial in the Android app. What if I sign out of the extension? Your blocking rules are tied to your account. Sign out clears the local cache; sites unblock until you sign back in with the same Google account. What about multiple Google accounts in Chrome? The extension uses the Google account you sign in with directly, not the Chrome profile account. If you have multiple Google accounts, sign in with the same one you used in the Jublu Android app. How is this different from other website blockers? Generic blockers show a static blocked screen. Jublu replaces it with a message that adapts to how persistent you have been today. The message is the product.
