Overview

See every JSON response a page loads. Search them, view as a tree or table, compare API calls, copy as cURL or export to Postman.

See every JSON response a page loads, in one list. JSON Tidy watches the fetch and XHR requests a site makes and lists each JSON response in Chrome's side panel as it arrives. It's made for web developers, QA testers and anyone working with a REST or GraphQL API who's tired of clicking through the Network tab to find one response. FIND THE RESPONSE YOU NEED • Search inside every response at once, not just the URLs. Type an order number or an email address you can see on the page, and JSON Tidy shows which API calls returned it and the path to each match, like .orders[3].customer.email • Each row shows the method, status code, URL, size and time • GraphQL requests show their operation name, since they all go to the same /graphql address DO SOMETHING WITH IT • Open it in the JSON viewer: a tree you can fold and search, a sortable table for lists of objects, the path to any value for JavaScript, Python, jq or JSON Pointer, and large IDs shown exactly as sent. Handles responses up to 20 MB • Compare with the previous call: see what changed in an API response after you saved, refreshed or polled, with the differences highlighted • Copy as cURL to paste into a terminal, Postman, Insomnia or Bruno • Download for Postman: a collection with the request and the response saved as an example • Copy a share link so a teammate can open the same response without signing up for anything • Copy the JSON, or download it as a .json file CHROME DEVTOOLS PANEL There's also a JSON Tidy tab in Chrome DevTools. It works on any site while DevTools is open, without turning anything on. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU • JSON Tidy only runs on sites you turn on, and Chrome asks you for each one • What it captures stays in your browser's memory and is cleared when you leave the page. Nothing is sent to JSON Tidy or anyone else • When you copy a request or export it for Postman, tokens, API keys and passwords are replaced with placeholders like {{bearer_token}} • No account, no tracking and no ads GETTING STARTED 1. Pin JSON Tidy to your toolbar from the puzzle-piece menu 2. Go to the site you're working on, click the JSON Tidy button and choose Turn on 3. Reload the page, and its JSON responses fill the side panel JSON Tidy is free, and I build it on my own.
