JSON Beautifier
Overview
View, format and validate json instantly in your browser — JSON Beautifier adds folding, search and copy, with no upload needed.
JSON Beautifier turns any wall of minified text into something you can actually read. Open a raw response, click once, and it lays the payload out with clean indentation, folded nodes and syntax colouring — no upload, no account, no paste-into-a-website step. ✨ What this does on day one ➤ Beautify json the moment a response loads, with nothing to copy ➤ Format json in place on any API endpoint you open ➤ Read deeply nested objects through a collapsible tree ➤ Works as a json viewer and a json formatter in one panel Everything runs inside your browser. Nothing you open is uploaded anywhere, which matters when the payload holds a staging token or a customer record. Every online json beautifier you would otherwise paste into is somebody else's server; this one is not. 🔧 Built for the tabs you already have open 1️⃣ Raw API output becomes readable without a round trip 2️⃣ Search across keys and values, including inside collapsed nodes 3️⃣ Copy any node, or its path, straight to the clipboard 4️⃣ Toggle back to the original text whenever you want it 5️⃣ Remembers per-domain whether you wanted it on Most of the time you are not admiring json — you are hunting one field in it. So the json beautify view opens fully expanded, keeps whatever you collapsed, and puts a search box within reach. 📋 Formatting that holds up - Two, four or eight columns of indentation, or tabs - Sort keys alphabetically, or keep the original order - Minify again when you need to paste it back - Line numbers, bracket matching and folding - Beautify json format quirks like trailing commas without choking 🧪 More than formatting ◆ A json validator that points at the character where parsing broke ◆ Escaped json inside a string is detected and expanded in place ◆ Large payloads stay untouched until you ask, so the tab never freezes ◆ Beautify json data behind a login, on staging, or on localhost That second point is the difference between a beautify json online box and a real tool. Escaped json nested inside a string field is where most viewers give up, and it is exactly what an API gateway hands you. A json object formatter that cannot open its own payload is not much use at three in the morning. 🎛 Options worth knowing about ▸ Choose whether json beautify runs automatically or on click ▸ Restrict it to the domains you list, so internal tools stay untouched ▸ Dark and light themes that follow your system setting ▸ Keyboard shortcuts for beautify and for minify ▸ Turn it into a plain json viewer online when you want no formatting at all 🔒 Privacy, stated plainly ➤ No data leaves the browser ➤ No account, no sign-up, no telemetry ➤ Works offline once installed ➤ Reaches nothing beyond the pages you point it at Developers, QA engineers and anyone reading API output all day end up doing the same three things: open a response, find a field, copy it somewhere. This does those three quickly and stays out of the way otherwise. If you have been keeping a json formatter online in a pinned tab, this replaces the pinned tab. ❓ Questions people ask Does the json beautify online behaviour work on a local server? Yes — localhost and any port behave like any other page. Can I use it as a json editor? You can copy any value, node or path straight out of it. It is a viewer first; a full json editor online is a different kind of tool. Is this a json beautifier chrome users can run offline? Yes. Once installed there is no network call at all, so json beautify chrome behaviour is identical on a plane and at a desk. What about very large files? Very large documents are left unformatted until you click, so a huge response never freezes the tab. Is there an online json beautify option without installing anything? Many, and they all involve pasting your payload into someone else's site. That trade is the reason this exists. A json beautifier online is convenient right up to the moment the payload is confidential. Does it replace a json parser in my code? No. This is for reading and checking json by eye, not for shipping. Use a real json lint step in CI and keep this for the browser. Can it produce compact output as well? Yes. Pretty json with indentation is the default, and a compact, minified format is one click away. If JSON Beautifier saves you that paste-into-a-website step even once a day, it is worth the install. We read every review — if something is missing, say so.
