Unable to connect extension to Twitch

When clicking on the "Connect to your Twitch account" button, the browser opens the following link:
https://id.twitch.tv/oauth2/authorize?response_type=token&client_id=ufvj1hc6m9qg5txkz9ryvz0hk961cx&redirect_uri=chrome-extension://jpgnbiffpoelgpegopldffmpbmfdojga/pages/template_option.html&scope=viewing_activity_read

which redirects to:

extension://invalid/
or
chrome-extension://invalid

Providing the following message:

invalid is blocked
This page has been blocked by Chrome/Opera/Microsoft Edge
ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT

I've tried disabling every privacy/security setting I could find and still experience the same issue. Any suggestions?
