JPG Image Converter helps you convert images without uploading them to a server. Use this browser image tool for local work with JPG, PNG, static WebP and HEIC/HEIF input files. HEIC/HEIF photos are converted locally to JPG, PNG or static WebP. Choose the output format you need, adjust image quality when the format supports it, and download the result. The extension performs real image conversion instead of changing only the filename. You can convert multiple files, review each result and keep successful items when another file fails. Bulk photo conversion stays inside Chrome and does not depend on a cloud queue. The batch screen lets you convert images in a predictable order. Select a target format once, compare the original and converted file information, and download converted images individually. A second image batch conversion can use different settings without changing the original files. Webpage workflow Use the context menu to convert web images you explicitly select. The extension can save image as JPG or save image as PNG after you choose the action. It does not scan every image on the page in the background. When a site requires access, the Chrome extension explains why and requests permission for that site after your action. If Chrome or the website blocks the selected source, download the file normally and use the local converter instead. This makes it possible to convert web images without granting permanent access to every website during installation. Format controls Use the WebP converter workflow to create a compatible JPG or PNG result. The JPG converter includes an explicit background choice when the source contains transparency. The PNG converter keeps transparency when the source and selected settings allow it. Metadata control Metadata is removed by default for a cleaner output. If you need supported metadata, choose Keep metadata in Output settings. The extension keeps only compatible metadata blocks when the source and output use the same image container, and normalizes EXIF orientation after the pixels are rotated. Preview the result, check the image quality and confirm the output format before downloading. You can change image format again without replacing the source file. Local and private Local image processing means the selected image bytes stay in the extension. Private image processing is the default design: no image upload, no account and no conversion history sent to our servers. The first release is built for offline conversion after the extension and its bundled components are installed. This image conversion extension stores only the preferences needed for the workflow. Local image processing is also used for the second and subsequent files in a batch. Filenames, image content, page URLs and image metadata are not used for advertising. Reliable results Before reporting success, the extension checks the generated file and its output format. It applies the selected image quality, normalizes orientation where supported and uses an explicit background when the target cannot preserve transparency. Use the image format tool when you need to convert image format for a document, website, presentation or another application. You can convert image format again with another compatible target. Typical workflows include WebP to JPG, WebP to PNG, PNG to JPG and JPG to PNG. The image converter is focused on one purpose: helping you work locally with clear controls and honest errors.
