Overview
Crawls two versions of a site (e.g. Production vs. Staging), screenshots every page and flags the ones whose layout differs.
Site Visual Diff Tool compares two versions of a website, such as production and staging, and shows you every page that looks different. Enter a Base Domain and a Comparison Domain in the side panel and start a deep scan. The extension collects the internal links on the base site's home page, opens each page on both domains, waits for images to load, takes a full-page screenshot of each, and compares them section by section. When the scan finishes, a report lists every page as Identical or Visual Shift Detected, and lists the broken links found on both sites. Use it to: - Check a staging site against production before you push an update - Catch layout breaks after a theme, plugin or page-builder update - Confirm a site looks the same after a migration or a change of host - Review a redesign page by page - Find broken links and images, and see which ones are new on staging What you get: - A side panel with two fields, one button and a live progress log - Full-page screenshots, stitched from scrolled captures, or first-screen-only for faster scans - A report listing every crawled path, colour-coded green or red, with the percentage of pixels that changed - A compare view for any page: baseline, comparison and a diff with changed pixels in bright red, side by side - A drag slider to wipe between any two of the three images - Section-aware comparison: when one section grows or a new one is added, only that section is marked, and the pages line up again below it - Popups, cookie banners and chat widgets are hidden before each screenshot, so they do not show up as differences - A broken link check for both sites, covering internal links, external links and images - Export: a report file a colleague can open in the extension, plus CSV files for pages and broken links - Filters, path search and sorting by largest difference - Notes for pages that return an error on the comparison site or differ in height Options: - Page limit (default 50) - Render delay before capture, so page-builder CSS and web fonts finish loading (default 2 seconds) - Viewport width (default 1440 px) - Sensitivity: the share of changed pixels above which a page is flagged - Broken link check: all links, internal links only, or off - Follow links found on sub-pages for a deeper crawl Private by design: Everything runs in your browser. Screenshots and results are stored locally on your computer and are replaced by the next scan. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and there are no analytics. Report files are only created when you choose Export, and are saved to your own downloads folder. Good to know: - During a scan the extension opens a temporary window and loads pages in it. Keep that window visible; it closes itself when the scan finishes. - Content that changes on every load, such as carousels, video or rotating banners, will be flagged as a difference. - Popups are hidden with CSS only. The extension never clicks Accept or Close for you. - Some external sites refuse automated link checks. Those links are listed separately as "could not verify" instead of broken. - Pages behind a login are compared as your browser sees them, so sign in to both sites first if you need them included.
