Tag Kit for Steam
Overview
Tags Steam games: AI Generated Content Disclosure, Anti-Cheat (kernel level first), 3rd-party DRM, account and EULA, and PvP.
Tag Kit for Steam tags items on the Steam store with what Steam and the developers report: AI Generated Content Disclosure, Kernel Level Anti-Cheat and Anti-Cheat Software, 3rd-party DRM, 3rd-Party Account, 3rd-party EULA, PvP, In-App Purchases, Family Sharing, and Valve's Steam Deck and Steam Machine ratings. It reads Steam's own store data. It sends no reports, collects nothing and has no server of its own. What it does: - Puts a short chip on capsules and rows in search, wishlist, home, tag and category hubs, sale pages, developer pages, package pages and search suggestions. Hovering a chip, or focusing it with the keyboard, opens a card with each tag in Steam's own words and its source. - Adds a section "Tag Kit tags for this product" on a game's page, and a banner that quotes the developer's AI disclosure word for word. - Lets you set each tag on its own: on or off, the badge, its entry in the banner and a list filter (Show, Dim or Hide). - Counts the results it hid in search and lets you reveal them on that page. - Lets you ignore a game, a developer or a publisher, for one tag or for all tags. Ignoring a game also covers its DLC. - Lets you reorder the tags by drag and drop, word your own chip text and pick badge colors. - Exports and imports your settings. - Comes in English and Spanish. What each tag means, in Steam's words: - AI Generated Content Disclosure: the developer reported generative AI use. The chip reads "AI". - Kernel Level Anti-Cheat and Anti-Cheat Software: the game lists that anti-cheat. - 3rd-party DRM, 3rd-Party Account and 3rd-party EULA: the game lists that requirement. - PvP and In-App Purchases: Steam lists them among the game's features. Both tags start switched off. - Steam Deck and Steam Machine: Valve rated the game Verified, Playable or Unsupported on that device. Both tags start switched off, and you pick which ratings to tag, Unsupported at first. A game Valve has not rated gets no tag. - Family Sharing: Steam lists Family Sharing among the game's features, which Valve computes. For a paid game whose list leaves it out, the chip reads "No Family Sharing" and the card says "According to the features Steam lists for this game". Free games and non-game items show nothing. This tag starts switched off, and you pick which of the two to tag, "No Family Sharing" at first. The AI tag is self-reported and says nothing about how much AI a game uses. A game without a chip may still involve AI: developers may not have reported anything, and Steam may not have the information for every item. Privacy: nothing is collected. To check the items on the page you are viewing, their app IDs go to Valve's own hosts that your browser uses (api.steampowered.com and store.steampowered.com), without cookies. Results and your settings stay in your browser. The full policy is at https://github.com/jrv97/steam-ai-reporter/blob/main/PRIVACY.md Open source (MIT).
