Markdown Pretty Viewer renders .md files with clean, GitHub-style formatting right in your browser, and lets you edit a copy before you save it. ✨ Features • Auto-detection: Renders .md and .markdown links automatically • Local files: Open Markdown files from your computer. You can turn them off in Settings. 📖 How to Use 1. Open any .md or .markdown link and it renders automatically 2. Click the extension icon → Choose File to open a file from your computer 3. Or paste a link or a file path into the popup Tip: To open local files by path or by dragging them into Chrome, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" on the extension's details page. Choose File works without it. 🔒 Privacy Markdown Pretty Viewer sends nothing to the developer or to any server, and it has no analytics or ads. The privacy section of this page lists "Web history" and "Website content" because the extension handles them on your device: • Web history: the popup remembers up to five links and file paths you opened from it, so you can open them again. For a file picked with Choose File, it keeps only the file name, never the contents. The list stays in this browser and is deleted when you remove the extension. • Website content: the extension reads the text of the Markdown page or file you open in order to display, search, copy and export it. A file you pick with Choose File is held in temporary browser memory only until its tab is closed or the browser restarts. Your settings are also kept in this browser. Nothing is synced to your account or sent anywhere. Images inside a document are loaded by your browser from the addresses the document itself points to.
