Full description Orange Juice (OJ) is a browser extension that makes reading and participating on Hacker News easier. It adds inline replies, unread comment highlights, keyboard navigation, and other useful features directly to news.ycombinator.com, while keeping HN’s familiar layout. Spend less time finding your place and more time reading something interesting. • Hide stories you’ve already read Clear visited stories from your feed with a checkbox. Prefer to keep them visible? Choose dimming or strikethrough instead. • Reply without leaving the conversation Open a reply form directly beneath a comment, so you can write while keeping the thread in view. Select text to quote it in your reply. • Find what’s new in a discussion When you return to a thread, an orange line marks comments added since your previous visit. • Navigate with your keyboard Use j and k to move between stories and Enter to open the selected story. Shortcuts also let you navigate comments, upvote, save favorites, and copy Hacker News links. Press ? to see the available commands. • Read comfortably in dark mode Switch to a dark appearance across story lists, discussions, and profile pages. • Follow people worth reading Follow users and browse their recent submissions and comments in a dedicated feed. Hover over usernames to see profile details, or mute users to make their comments less prominent. • Make long threads easier to follow Indent guides help you follow nested conversations. Collapse threads from the indentation area, spot the original poster, and read code with clearer formatting. • See diagrams inside comments Mermaid diagrams render directly in supported comment blocks, turning text descriptions into readable flowcharts and other diagrams.
